I m in love.

With the entire collection.

It felt very YSL to me.

It felt very true to the label.

Very beautiful, very chic.

Very elegant.

The reaction to Stefano Pilati s last show

for Yves St Laurent

felt celebratory rather than sad.

Mind you, it was a dark celebration,

courtesy of Stefano s clothes.

[thumping runway music]

I thought this was quite dark, so much black.

Stefano Pilati always flips flop a lot.

I mean one season it s very dark

and one season it s quite light

and feminine and lovely.

And this was definitely on the dark side.

I think it was really powerful and strong

and beautiful and brave and bold.

But still classic at the same time

but with twists on it.

[Tim] There was a darkness to those clothes

that I find very alluring.

Sexy though, very sexy.

It felt like a hybrid of Joan of Arc,

Hurwitz,

and 90 s.

Great trousers, high-waisted cigarette pants,

great shoes used as great accessories.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

I particularly love the big flower motif,

both in the jewelry and on the coats and things.

And, one day, when I ve done a lot more exercise,

I d really like to have one of the chain dresses [laughing].

[Tim] Well you know the chain mail was rubber and metal.

[Katie] Oh, well I can t wait to wear it.

[Tim] That s a hybrid right there.

Yeah, I love a hybrid.

[thumping runway music]

[Tim] The darkness in the collection,

it felt like a little bit St Laurent

but it felt like a lot of him.

This collection was so him, you know,

it was so minimal

and it was very, very sculptural

and it was very, very pure.

Pure Stefano actually.

It s a very stark and a very dramatic vision of women.

St Laurent had a much more exuberant,

opulent, joyous view of women.

He glorified them.

Stefano, he sees women in a more forceful way

but with, maybe, sort of a darker cloud hanging over them.

It was a really poignant evening.

On one hand, I feel a bit sad.

On another hand, I feel like Stefano had a great time

and did some fantastic things.

And I love the way he works like an artist.
