Just as you go blonde, he does a collection

for people with very very black hair.

It s gorgeous.

I still will wear it with the blonde.

I remember when we first covered Joseph Altuzarra

years ago, we ended up talking about fetish

a whole lot.

That happened again tonight.

If last season was a spiritual journey,

I feel he went very sexual

with this collection.

[Tim] What did that collection evoke for you

when you were looking at those clothes?

Cruella Deville.

Wonder Woman.

It s a bit Patty Smith,

but it s that kind of, like not too bourgeois.

The girl that kind of, goes to work in the daytime,

but parties at nighttime.

[Tim] After your spring collection,

this was a totally different journey.

Where were you taking us?

To the streets.

[Tim] I imagine that the streets is in late 60s Paris.

You know, it was the idea of fetishizing the street,

and all it s different subcultures.

And it was fetishizing the corporate woman,

and teddy girls, and the glamozons,

and there s always this idea of, stylistically,

how do you twist it and you make it weirder.

[Tim] It was kind of like

if Catherine Deneuve, and Pierre Clementi,

and Belle De Jour were wearing each other s clothes.

It felt very French, you re right.

I think that his greatest muse is Carine Roitfeld

and to me, it looked like younger versions of her

walking down the runway.

Mixing mink with this poly-leather,

putting a trench under a leather jacket,

and then under that having, like a shirt and a dickie,

It s very, like, perverse in a way.

[Tim] It was very, very sexy,

in a very overt way, I thought.

Yeah, but in an empowering, fierce way,

as apposed to, in a sort of, there were no kind of

bedroom eyes, it seemed very direct.

Which I liked.

Sort of Helmut Newton woman,

like a Helmut Newton meets Batman.

Gotham City, like a dark sexy.

Could be a Newton from the 2055.

It s a good evolution a Joseph Altuzarra show.
