Fall 2013 Ready-to-Wear: Narciso Rodriguez

Narciso Rodriguez has always been mister precise,

but he s in such a happy place right now,

that he s learned to let go.

You can see that in the color scheme of the new collection.

(techno music)

The collection is graphic,

cause I always like to work with black and white,

but this season, we went a little crazy with color.

I think it s a great moment to do color and mixes of color.

(techno music)

Immediately, I love the simplicity.

It was simple, but it had a little drama to it,

and I love a little drama.

This season, I think it looked very right.

In terms of geometry and playing with different fabrics,

and colors, and textures, it s very much historic.

[Interviewer] What do you respond to in those clothes?

I love them. I want to wear them.

It s just so feminine and strict,

and it s very nice.

Those jackets, the way they ve been cut back like that,

he s been kind of doing that for, maybe, three seasons,

but I like the fact that he just keeps staying with it.

I also liked the way he put the volume

and the shape under the jacket.

[Interviewer] What s drawing you to that nuclear color?

I feel very positive.

It s just a great time for color, and a great time to

create things that have great integrity

and are unique and very different from what s available.

There s so much fashion in the world.

You really need to create things that are very special.
