What’s in Doechii’s Bag? Emergency Heels, Instant Ramen, and Audre Lorde’s Wisdom
Released on 07/17/2025
It burns so good, and I love it.
Peels my lips right off.
I ll grow new ones.
Like, it doesn t matter.
As long as they re plump, period.

The first item that I have is this little knickknack
that I got on my flight on the way here.
It was really sweet.
And I was literally journaling
about how I wanted more trinkets in my new house.
I feel like it s a lost art.
A lot of houses are really into contemporary minimalism
and stuff like that, and we re losing the art of trinkets
and items of memorabilia in the home.
The next thing in my bag is a pair of Prada heels.
This should be self-explanatory.
Emergencies, subways, bodegas.
You have to have your Pradas.
I mean, it s just, it s class.
The next item is my wallet.
It s heavy.
Oh, I don t know if I could show you what s in it,
but you know, real quick.
You know what I m saying?
Passport, and a lot of money.
Okay.
My grills.
I bring them with me everywhere because you never know.
I actually wore these grills the day of the Met Gala.
I had these made to go with the Louis Vuitton look
that Pharrell designed for me
A journal, a leather journal.
I got this because I felt like it would inspire me
to write more poetry, which it did.
But yeah, I like to just document things
that I see on the road,
and thoughts that I have, epiphanies that I have,
dreams, everything.
My whole experience is in my journal.
I mean, a lot of this is like super, super raw,
vulnerable writing, so I won t get into anything too deep.
But one that I have here is,
I have access to an unlimited supply.
Reach out and take what you desire anytime you like.
God doesn t run out of blessings.
Next thing in my bag is a book that I m currently reading,
and it s called Your Silence Will Not Protect You
by Audre Lorde, and it s incredible.
I ll read a line out of it that I really like.
She said, The transformation of silence
into language and action is an act of self revelation.
And I really like that line because it just encourages me
to constantly keep using my voice in my music and in my art.
And when I have platforms,
whether it be at award shows or whatever,
I use my voice as much as possible
to reach other Black women, to reach the youth,
to inspire people to make change,
and do things, and say things, and create things
that benefit the collective.
That s what Audre does for me. Yeah.
Okay, this next one is kinda ghetto.
Ramen.
Ramen.
You get hungry, and it s like, it s instant.
All you need is a bottle of water and the sun,
and you could cook something in here.
I mean, my mom is shaking her head right now,
but this comes in handy.
I get hungry.
Let s go a little bit in the pocket here.
Let s dig deep.
Okay, so I have to have my lippies.
Keep your lips moisturized at all times.
I have the Fenty Skin lip mask.
My makeup artist put me onto that.
Chelsea, she s amazing.
I just wear it as a lip now because it s just fab.
And then I have the Sephora lip gloss, and I love it.
My laptop.
But the laptop is not as important as what s inside of it.
Here I have the manuscripts
of a really cool show that s coming up.
We got this writer, his name is Jaboukie,
he s super talented, to write this whole show for us,
because I m interested in blending theater and hip hop,
and turning performances into plays kind of.
And we have the script.
It is gonna be fantastic.
These shades are my incognito shades.
So I don t wear my super fancy ones out.
I just wear these.
Not that they re not fancy.
They re not.
I m sorry, they re not.
But anyway,
these are my incognito shades when I don t wanna be caught
by anybody or seen.
Showbiz can get really, really intense
and everybody s like, Doechii, we need you to go there,
we need you to go...
Hm-mm.
Everybody just get out for a second.
I do some meditating, and solitude and space.
I just need space.
Glastonbury was a wild, wild day.
I believe that we were on site for,
it had to be over 10 hours,
and I saw so many cool performers.
I saw Amaarae, I know Rae performed.
Gracie performed, Charlie performed.
We performed at the same time, which it should be illegal.
It was an incredible show,
and I think that me and my team pushed ourselves
the hardest that we ever have
to put together that production, and it came out amazing.
Okay, so next I have my Louis Vuitton perfume.
They gifted this to me for the day of the Met Gala as well,
and I love this scent.
I would describe it as androgynous.
The top is missing.
To me it smells like if a cologne and a perfume
were mixed together.
I m gonna spray some now, actually.
It s fab.
Any gender, any style, any outfit, any time of the day,
that s my go-to.
The next item is gonna be one of my signature hats.
I wear these hats all the time, and what s crazy
is that I don t actually know what they re called.
I just know that I love them.
It looks crazy right now, but get into it.
See, where I m from in the hood,
they call these fuckass hats.
But yeah, no, it eats every time.
Like it s gonna take any casual fit
to high fashion instantly.
This next item is an essential.
If you re going to the club,
or you re out at a day party, out at the beach, anything.
The girls that know, know, a fan.
I beg.
It is so good, and I need it right now.
Just listen to it.
[fan buzzing]
Yeah, a fan.
That s all. That s all I got, guys.
I mean, this bag means, of course practicality,
but also like just flat out luxury.
But also, it has like this meaning to me
because I was gifted this bag during the Met Gala.
And so, every time I pick it up and I use it,
I just have this appreciation
for Louis Vuitton and for Pharrell,
and being able to be a part of Pharrell s vision
while he s designing.
It is just an incredible time for Louis Vuitton right now,
and I feel really, really good to be a part of that.
I think like the most grounding thing
that is in my bag is my journal.
I keep a journal on me at all times
because I have to document my thoughts,
I have to have some type of release for my feelings.
I have had a journal since I was in
probably the fourth or fifth grade,
and I ve documented my entire coming of age experience,
and one day I wanna make it into a book.
I m actually in this kind of mood.
[calm music]
Well, that s what was in my bag.
I m Doechii.
Bye, y all.
What s a proper outro, cause that was crazy.
That s what s in my bag.
Thank you, Vogue.
I m Doechii.
Until next time, bye.
