Just as quickly as she arrived, Amal Clooney has already departed from the 2025 Venice Film Festival.
Following last night’s premiere of Jay Kelly—where Clooney opted for a dramatic magenta fall 1995 Jean-Louis Scherrer dress and unreleased Cartier jewelry—the barrister and her husband, George, bid Venice adieu (or should we say ciao?). For her farewell look, Clooney wore a black ribbed midi dress and the same white Prada slingbacks she wore for her arrival. As for her accessories, opted for some of her wardrobe heroes: a woven, wide-brimmed hat that matched her raffia top handle bag, and a pair of oversized sunglasses.
Clooney opted for a much sunnier look for her arrival. Clooney offered her take on the color du jour, dressed in a butter yellow mid-length halter dress from Balmain’s resort 2026 collection. The structured dress was outfitted with a thick, V-neck halter strap that carried into a belted waist complete with the brand’s signature chunky gold buckle. That wasn’t the only Olivier Rousteing piece that Clooney wore: she carried a white Balmain Ebene bag with gold hardware. Coordinating her accessories, she added a pair of pointy-toe Prada slingbacks. (When in Italy!)
Clooney isn’t alone with her 11th-hour butter yellow endorsement. Earlier this month, Bella Hadid celebrated her latest Orebella fragrance in Los Angeles, dressed in a yellowy white minidress from With Jéan. Hadid’s pastel color palette wasn’t the only commonality with Clooney’s Venice look: Hadid’s strapless dress also featured a statement belt, though hers was low-waisted.
While the butter yellow trend may be on its way out (quoth Hailey Bieber: “butter yellow is played out.. respectfully”), a last-minute endorsement from Amal Clooney and Bella Hadid may give this color a big push into fall.
