Daisy Edgar-Jones’ style file consists of contemporary boho looks via Chloé’s ruffles upon ruffles, polished downtown cool girl fits by way of Magda Butrym and Our Legacy, and red carpet bangers courtesy of Victoria Beckham, 16Arlington, and Givenchy. But mostly, she’s an all-out Gucci girl—and where Gucci goes, Daisy Edgar-Jones will follow. Even if that means diving back into the aesthetics of a long maligned British subculture.
The actor stepped out for the premiere of her latest film On Swift Horses at SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, wearing fresh-off-the-runway Gucci. She wore a plunging, lace fluro-green bodysuit with a skinny, Gucci-stamped belt, a shiny pale green pearlescent pencil skirt, and patent black pumps. Jones, styled by Dani Michelle, swapped out the necklace worn on the runway for another heavy gold chain from the collection. She wore her enviable bangs swept into curtains, and a pale pink manicure.
The look comes straight from Gucci’s Fall 2025 show, an interim collection following Sabato De Sarno’s surprise exit last month. While Jones’ runway to red carpet outfit leans into some of the Gucci-isms we’re all familiar with—horsebit hardware, acid tones against contrasting neutrals, and mod-ish shapes—there’s also some British-isms rearing their head.
Given Jones is one of the Brit-girls of the moment, it’s hard not to think of the New Rave era that swept Britain while she was a teen. The British subculture of the mid aughts was characterized by its heavy and hectic DIY disco sounds, and a defining aesthetic of fluorescent clothing. Think early House of Holland and its oversized, brightly colored slogan t-shirts, purple Nike high-tops, and Topshop concessions chock full of bodysuits, patterned tights, and hot pants. Out of context of a storied Italian house or a buzzy stateside red carpet, the look could easily translate to a Bristol rave, with a Klaxons secret set and Alexa Chung hanging out in the smoking area, asking where you got that bodysuit.
Still, Jones remains a faithful ambassador for Gucci, usually opting for sleek tailoring, sculptural gowns, and classic accessories.
Jones joined her On Swift Horses castmates Diego Calva, Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, and Sasha Calle onstage to introduce the film. Jones plays Muriel, who finds herself embroiled in a secret life of gambling on racehorses and complicated trysts in the 1950s-set romantic drama, adapted from Shannon Pufahl’s 2019 novel.
