Doja Cat is taking full advantage of the southern hemisphere’s warm weather. The singer, currently on tour in Down Under, enjoyed a day off at the Taronga Zoo in Mosman, Australia, where she embraced summery style.
When it came to her outfit, the “Gorgeous” singer abided by the sandwich dressing method. On top, she kept it sporty in a green long-sleeve T-shirt from BDG. The Lisboa jersey-like tee featured black piping on the collar and sleeves, and the number 72 emblazoned on the chest. But that’s not all, folks. Doja Cat, always game to stir up fashion controversy, opted for a pair of hotly contested sneaker heels: specifically, a pair of black Empty Behavior heeled cleats.
Doja’s bottoms were also a serious thematic departure from the rest of her sporty outfit. In place of Adam Sandler-esque basketball shorts, or even jeans, the singer opted for a pair of off-white bloomers, with which the top layer allowed the ruffle-hemmed balloon shorts to peak out from underneath.
This isn’t the first time Doja Cat has dabbled in the subverted sneaker. When she performed at the World Cup halftime show earlier this year, she accessorized a Swarovski-studded jersey dress with a pair of pointy-toe, kitten-heeled white and red Adidas mules. But today, dressed in pastoral bloomers, an Urban Outfitters tee, and a trucker cap, she demonstrates how to make the sneaker heel work in the real world.
