Hailey Bieber Brings the Naked Dress Down Under

Hailey Bieber understood the assignment for the Wuthering Heights premiere red carpet: sexy, sensual, a small (read: very, very small) nod to historical dressing.

Stepping out for the Sydney event, Bieber opted for a totally sheer and black embroidered dress, with a matching tulle-lined bra and fluted sleeves, falling into a paneled skirt and mini-train. She chose to go sans jewelry, save for her wedding ring, and wore black stiletto sandals. Glam was also kept pared back: her makeup was light and rosy, her lob was tousled and effortlessly flicked out, and she resurrected the glazed doughnut nails.

Hailey Bieber, of course, is no stranger to the naked dress trend. But of recent, she’s been part of the cohort giving the barely there brief an elevated twist. At the 2026 Grammys, she opted for a custom jersey dress from Pieter Mulier’s Alaïa, with sleek, sheer side-paneling; adding an “ICE OUT” pin as an accessory, Bieber let the look’s attitude do all the talking.

It’s also a look that falls totally within the world of Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights with its fantastical, a-historical take on fashion, and Margot Robbie’s triumphant suite of press tour looks that revel in corsetry and hypersensual silhouettes. On the same Sydney red carpet, Robbie herself wore a Catherine Earshaw-channeling Ashi Studio look, with a sculpted, hand-painted bodice and see-through sleeves that fall into undulating ruffles.

Bieber is down under for her beauty superbrand Rhode’s Australian expansion, and so far, has kept the rest of her daytime looks more within her usual remit: The Row heels, a vintage Gucci by Tom Ford bikini, a cropped and belted trench by Magda Butrym. The tour continues, and we can be certain that there’s more showstopper dresses and vintage moments to come from H.B.
