It’s all Gucci for Hailey Bieber, who attended last night’s GQ Men of the Year Awards in a somewhat familiar but all the more sexy silhouette.
The Rhode founder slipped into a sparkly black, sheer knit custom Gucci dress—one that recalls those iconic Tom Ford-era details Bieber loves—with a halterneck front and extra-low back, which also featured an exposed Gucci logo thong detail. She paired the statement-making dress with Tiffany Co cluster drop earrings, a matching bracelet, and diamond band ring. For glam, she stuck to her tried and true, with her brunette hair in a soft up-do, subtle blush, and a glossy caramel brown lip.
It’s not the first time Bieber has braved the backside-exposing shape; she wore a pink, long-sleeved Alexander Wang gown with a similar thong detail to the 2019 Met Gala, in keeping with the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme. Back then, Hailey Bieber had yet to establish her more quiet luxury-influenced aesthetic, and leaned into the night’s vibe with the sugary pink gown, peroxide blonde hair, and frosted makeup.
The vintage, monogram-affixed Gucci thong has been worn by the likes of Kim Kardashian and Solange Knowles too, which Tom Ford first sent down the runway as part of his Gucci spring 1997 collection. It’s so iconic that it’s in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. As reflected in Demna’s spring 2026 debut collection for Gucci, the newly anointed creative director has been delving into the Gucci archives, intertwining house codes established by a history of stellar C.Ds with his own Demna-isms. Bieber is onboard with this one.
The theme of yesterday evening at the Chateau Marmont was “90s Hollywood red carpet”—which Gucci’s consistently show-stopping gowns have delivered on over the years. And who could forget Gillian Anderson and Rose McGowan’s own back-bearing moments through the ’90s? Bieber ticked all the boxes.
This contemporary look called upon a classic—and yet still very playful—style lexicon for the business mogul, model, and mom of one. In recent red carpet and glitzy appearances, Bieber has stayed faithful to her fashion formula: Saint Laurent leathers, structured Ferragamo, and vintage accessories. Classic Gucci is a frequent go-to for Bieber.
Bieber fronts one of seven GQ covers that celebrate 30 years of GQ Men of the Year. She was joined on the red carpet by fellow cover stars and co-hosts Stephen Colbert, SZA, Oscar Isaac, Sydney Sweeney, and Clipse.
Temperatures may be dropping, but celebrity fashion has barely taken notice. Anya Taylor-Joy stepped out for a party in New York in a cheeky corseted mini-dress, and Demi Moore continued her streak of naked dressing on her Landman press tour, while Millie Bobby Brown brought her lingerie to the London premiere of Stranger Things. And with the controversial, ultra low-rise bumsters returning on Alexander McQueen’s spring 2026 runway, it looks like crack is so, so back. Hailey Bieber—with Gucci’s heritage codes and Demna’s future-facing vision—stays ahead.
