There will be no skinny jeans revival if Katie Holmes has anything to say about it.
The actor, who is just days from opening night of Our Town on Broadway, sauntered through the streets of New York City in an outfit that is perfectly suited for impending fall. She wore a blue-and-white striped button-up, left mostly undone—a chic styling trick and a handy ventilation trick. But our eyes couldn’t help but wander to her black cropped, raw-hem jeans from Bsides denim with an exaggerated wide-legged silhouette. Absolutely no skinny jeans revival to speak of here! In fact, Holmes’s pants were so wide that we reckon she could make a pair of skinny jeans with each leg.
Holmes balanced out the extreme silhouette with her everywoman styling. She wore a pair of black leather ballet flats with a pointed vamp and a center seam from Mansur Gavriel, and added a pair of black-framed sunglasses with sepia lenses. Always one to schlep at least one outsized bag at all times, the actor carried both a tote bag and her recent favorite Tusting weekender bag.
We’ll definitely be taking cues from Katie Holmes’s simple yet stylish outfit come this fall—gaping pant legs and all.
