Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet: a tangerine dream love story, told through their mutual love of Chrome Hearts. If the ’90s gave us a suited-and-booted Hugh Grant and Liz Hurley in a safety pin dress, and the 2000s gave us denim-clad Britney and Justin, the 2020s couple style crown is currently being claimed by Gen Z’s answer to Posh and Becks: Lil’ Timmy Tim and Kylie Jenner. Since the internet was first set ablaze by romance rumors in 2023, the pair have delivered their fair share of red carpet and off-duty moments—from courtside casual to all-out awards season glam.

While their couple style has previously nodded to Old Hollywood codes (and direct references to the aforementioned Liz and Hugh have not gone unnoticed), for their latest joint outing at the premiere of Marty Supreme they brought us a less classic color story—a nod to the film’s ping pong balls (talk about method dressing: Chalamet accessorized with a custom paddle holder). A vision in tangerine, the pair wore custom Chrome Hearts in true Instagram baddie fashion, continuing Timothée Chalamet’s devotion to hypebeast dressing: a habit cemented when he appeared in cotton candy-pink co-ords for the A Complete Unknown premiere earlier this year.

Also featuring Gwyneth Paltrow (in far more understated fashion—her own label, Gwyn, to be exact), Tyler, the Creator, and Odessa A’zion, the premiere’s red carpet was a glimpse into the somewhat deranged-looking table-tennis film set to dominate New Year box office. It may be a far cry from his Call Me By Your Name breakout, but whether on- or off-screen, nobody could accuse Timothée Chalamet of taking the understated option.
