Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams are a pretty low-key couple. Reportedly dating for about 18 months, they’ve done more festival pits and circuits of east London’s parks with pastries and iced flat whites than they have red carpets—the latter of which, as of today, amounts to one.

Mescal and Abrams were photographed yesterday evening (February 18) attending a screening of Man on the Run at London’s Ham Yard Hotel. Both the actor and singer coordinated in similarly casual, laidback looks: Mescal opted for a gray wool coat with wide lapels and a navy and blue graphic knit sweater, black jeans, black adidas superstar sneakers, and a navy baseball cap stamped with a red “B.” Abrams, meanwhile, opted for a black peacoat by The Row with a pale pink rosette pinned to her lapel, dark indigo jeans from Casey Casey, and black leather shoes. She also wore a cream cap by British designer Aaron Esh with pink embroidery and a gray brim.

It was both date night and a research trip. Man on the Run, directed by Morgan Neville, is a documentary tracing the life of Beatles founding member Paul McCartney, from his formation of his next band Wings and through the 1970s. Mescal is in the thick of filming Sam Mendes’s four-part Beatles biopic movies, set for release in April 2028.

Mescal plays Paul McCartney, Saltburn’s Barry Keoghan is Ringo Starr, Babygirl’s Harris Dickinson is John Lennon, and Gladiator II’s Joseph Quinn plays George Harrison. The four interconnected biopics will each lead with a band member’s point of view.

The Hamnet actor also posed alongside Abrams and McCartney himself prior to the screening.

A Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal red carpet moment has been a long time coming, and this very lowkey affair means they’ve been able to tick off the fan-anticipated moment with minimal fanfare. Back in summer, the pair hit the carpet separately at the Cannes Film Festival; Abrams was there to support Mescal’s The History of Sound. There was a brief glimpse of them emerging from a car for the Golden Globes 2026 afterparty too, in matching sleek monochromatic fits. But their coordinating super casual looks for the night also track with any other sightings of them in the wild (at Glastonbury, at the aforementioned Hackney green spaces), where Paul can be found sporting gaelic shorts and easy knits, while Gracie favors baggy jeans and Y2K vintage.

With just over two years to go until the Beatles biopics drop—and what will surely be a mega press tour—this might just be the beginning of breadcrumbing a major red carpet couples moment avec Gracie et Paul. See you in 2028!
