It sounds kind of silly to talk about the serenity

of the collection when the centerpiece of the show

is a car crash but the point that Ricardo Tisci

was making with this set is that his show was inspired

by a culture clash between North Africa and Japan,

and that is kind of surreal.

Amazing, I love it, so like grunge comes safari

and Asian-inspired, I love the glitter,

it was beautiful.

It s amazing to see where his mind goes,

but it s always so chic.

It could be barbarian chic, I like to think.

Oh, it s savage, you know, it s kind of bloody,

you can feel blood taste in your mouth.

It s kind of raw but still classy

and powerful and strong,

I think it s amazing.

So beautiful, I ve never seen anything like this before.

There was a different approach

to the femininity of things,

like, he always brings out the woman,

but the moments of like the more open and skin,

that was also something special, I feel, to see from him,

like he s had skin moments,

but the way that it was displayed on the body

was different than before.

I love the idea of the draped, that s new,

he hasn t done drape before, all those drapes,

very complicated, probably difficult to put on,

you need the helper.

Flat shoes, flatties, no more high heels,

that s also good.

Ricardo never disappoints me and every time I see him,

I say, What is he gonna invent next?

[Tim Blanks] You know when he started,

think of the first shows when there was this sort

of this gothic drama and this tension

and as time s gone on,

there s this more and more serenity, I feel.

It s probably a very personal journey for him

as a designer, he s maturing, and also, of course,

as a person, it s settling him down,

and I think that the piece always brings

the best out of us.
