At the end of 2024, we wondered: Is method dressing over? In 2025, celebrities (and their stylists) answered with a resounding no.
This year, there was no shortage of celebrities whose promotional duties extended to their outfits. To nobody’s surprise, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo continued their Wicked streak, finishing out two years of sartorial storytelling as Glinda and Elphaba.
Some actors went big with their references. Jodie Turner-Smith pulled Schiaparelli’s motherboard dress in honor of Tron: Ares, while Alexander Skarsgård promoted his BDSM rom-com Pillion by going full leather daddy—including a pair of thigh-high leather Saint Laurent boots. Jacob Elordi, meanwhile, took a subtler approach in a Frankenstein graphic sweater.
And that’s really just to name a few. Throughout 2025, Jenna Ortega, Lindsay Lohan, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Julia Garner, Sydney Sweeney, and Naomi Watts all used their fashion to highlight their onscreen work.
So what awaits us across the next 12 months? We have some ideas. Read on to see what 2026 movies we think will beget a method dressing tour.
Wuthering Heights
While Emerald Fennell’s forthcoming film is already stirring up conversation thanks to its surprising costumes, Margot Robbie and stylist Andrew Mukamal are already plotting a fashion fantasia for the press tour. “The couture shows are in January. So we can see what comes out of that,” Robbie told British Vogue. Maybe, if we’re lucky, co-star Jacob Elordi will break out the cravat again.

Sense and Sensibility
There are even more period pieces on the horizon! We’re sure Daisy Edgar-Jones could rock a Regency-inspired red carpet look like no other.
Release Date: September 11, 2026
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping
Elle Fanning, this one’s yours to lose! In the Hunger Games prequel, the stylish star is taking on the role of Effie Trinket, the eccentric Capitol escort. We’re hoping Fanning—and the rest of the cast—will lean into her outré sensibilities.
Release Date: November 20, 2026
Supergirl
This summer, David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult both got into the superhero (and villain) spirit while promoting Superman. We’re keen to see if Milly Alcock—who made a cameo at the end of this summer’s blockbuster—will follow in their footsteps. We’ve got two words: Chanel sweater.

The Devil Wears Prada 2
As soon as we saw the paparazzi photos from TDWP2’s set—not to mention those red Valentino rockstud heels—we knew we were in for a wild ride. Surely, the red carpet will be a no-holds-barred fashion explosion, particularly for Anne Hathaway. But we can only hope that Meryl Streep and Mrs. Prada are putting their heads together for a premiere look.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Zendaya’s Valentino spiderweb dress could well be considered the start of modern method dressing. (Since then, she’s gone all in on Dune and Challengers press tours.) We can only imagine that she has big things in store to promote the latest Spider-Man movie, alongside her dapper fiancé, Tom Holland. But don’t count on the stylish duo to carry the carpets—castmate Sadie Sink is sure to come prepared with some standout looks.
Release Date: July 31, 2026
Dune: Part 3
Between the vintage Mugler gynoid suit and the Torishéju dress that would’ve killed it on Arrakis, we can always count on Zendaya to dial up the red carpet style for Dune press tours. Her co-stars—Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Anya Taylor-Joy—all bring their A-game too.
Release Date: December 18, 2026
The Odyssey
Zendaya—and Law Roach—have a busy 2026 in store. There’s no doubt this method dressing duo has some archival pulls in store. Perhaps some vintage Versace? Anne Hathaway (a longtime friend of Versace), Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Mia Goth will also surely come prepared.
