What’s more New York than hammering a pizza slice on the city streets? What’s more Italian than an opulent handbag? Blake Lively has the answer.
Lively has been continuing her press tour for her latest film, Another Simple Favor—this time, spotted out and about in New York City with a Judith Leiber pepperoni pizza purse. Molto bene! Ah, forget about it!
The actor toted her latest accessory while wearing a black textured two piece set, with a tailored waistcoat and suit pants. She also wore a stacked selection of gold and turquoise bangles and bracelets, and pointed silver pumps.
In a series of silly press shots, she grabbed a pizza pie with co-stars Lorenzo de Moor and Michele Morrone in Greenwich village and got down to business.
While the Gossip Girl alum has made her home and plenty of acting appearances in NYC—and probably had many a New York slice in her time—it’s most likely a reference to her Capri-set film, where her character Emily is set on an extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman.
Later in the evening on April 29, Lively stepped out with husband Ryan Reynolds to support their friend Hugh Jackman in his new off-Broadway play with another colorful tweed Chanel handbag, pairing it with a leather two piece peplum and trouser set.
The Blake Lively school of dressing is not averse to themed outfits—in fact, Lively, who styles herself, often uses accessories as Easter eggs and references to her latest or forthcoming roles.
In a recent appearance at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Lively chose a martini-shaped clutch bag from the same brand, seemingly in reference to her character Emily’s favored alcoholic drink. In the first film, Lively’s character shares what a “real martini” requires: A frozen martini glass, frozen gin, vermouth, and a lemon twist. And that you should never “add f**king ice. Ever.” A novelty bag is very much in the wheelhouse; at the film’s London photocall, Lively also toted a camera-shaped Chanel bag.
The press tour wardrobe has been filled with surprises and Lively-esque details: From a Met Gala mermaid throwback to an elevated prom night gown, a Canadian tuxedo, and experiments in latex.
Eyes peeled for her next satiating and statement handbag.
