Kristen Stewart has picked up her first award for her directorial debut, The Chronology of Water—and for such a momentous occasion, the Chanel ambassador brought a wardrobe of the French house’s greatest aesthetic hits to the France-set film festival.
Arriving at the Deauville American Film Festival photocall, Stewart stepped out in a white tweed and sequin jacket and skirt set, with silver buttons and a rainbow pastel tone sheen to the organza fabric. She styled the look with black capped platform shoes, and opted for minimal makeup and her blonde hair up in a messy bun, which gave some edgy contrast to an otherwise prim, super feminine look.
Hitting the red carpet with actor Zoey Deutch—who was being honored with the Hollywood Rising Star Award—the director and actor wore coordinating black sparkly looks. Stewart wore an ensemble from the house’s fall 2025 collection, with a short sleeve sheer and sequin blouse and mini skirt with silver piping, styled with a simple silver chain necklace open-toed platform heels. She upped her glam with wet-look, tousled hair and black smoky eyes.
Yesterday (September 13), Stewart attended the festival’s closing ceremony in another monochromatic black look. Styled by Tara Swennen, the finale outfit delighted in Chanel’s roughed up femme side, with tonnes of tulle: Stewart wore a black embroidered top with short sleeves that fell into sheer lengths, adorned with bows at her biceps and collar. She wore it open to expose a slivver of midriff. Her matching black shorts fell into those similar, longer over-layers of trompe l’oeil tulle like a train.
The actor has a deep, longstanding relationship with Chanel, a Karl Lagerfeld favorite. But she’s someone that has managed to keep her own personal sense of style and spirit atop the label’s signature looks. Whether in Coco-esque tweed or sherbet pink, Stewart’s more free-spirited aesthetic shines through. And with Matthieu Blazy’s imminent debut, it will be interesting to see how his vision of Chanel rides in tandem with ambassadors like Stewart.
Stewart received the Prix de la Revelation award for The Chronology of Water, which she directed and co-produced with her wife, Dylan Meyer. Based on the memoir by Lidia Yuknavitch, the movie traces the life of an Olympic swimming hopeful escaping abuse and addiction. With her first win and nod of approval from the industry under her belt, expect to see more of Kristen Stewart’s love affair with Chanel this coming awards season.
