For me, like, punk is always an attitude, a way of being.

It s not just being what you re wearing.

It s more of a spirit than an actual, you know,

dress code, I think.

(Man) Scene 303, take 2, mark.

My name is Chioma Nnadi and I m a fashion writer at Vogue.

I think that this tartan is the most traditional

and I think that if you re gonna subvert something

you wanna take the most traditional thing.

I love the fact that plaid is like a coat of arms

to the Scottish.

I was quite an odd teenager.

I had quite sort of varying tastes,

loving like a dance hall queen look one week

to being into punk the next

and like, flirting with goth.

What s appealing to me about punk

is that I felt, you know, do it yourself.

It was about buying something and really making it your own.

I could wear these pants with something very conservative,

but I put it on with a blazer that has like, safety pins

and like, you know, some punk earrings.

If it feels a little bit like maybe I ve gone too far,

you re probably heading in the right direction.
