Be very generous with your lip balm.

So generous that if you have leftovers,

you can put it on your elbow.

And that s a tip,

that s an elbow tip. [laughs]

[upbeat music]

Today is the closing ceremony

of the Cannes Film Festival 2025,

and I am getting ready for the red carpet

of the closing ceremony.

This is my first time at the Cannes Film Festival.

I am of course, always excited, a bunch of nerves.

I truly thrive in this sort of chaos.

It s a bit strange, I don t know why,

but like the chaos always tends to find us.

A couple of minutes ago,

we had no electricity for the last four hours

so Amit over here was actually taking my hair extensions

and he put it on a tong

and he put it out in the sun so that it could heat up

because we had no electricity.

We figured it out as we re going,

but now we re very grateful and thankful

that the electricity is back.

[upbeat music]

Do I feel like I blend into

any of these big sort of international red carpet events?

If you knew who I was personally,

I m a combination of shy and outgoing.

Like I have my days where I can be like totally working it.

Literally within seconds I ll be like,

Shut the door, nobody look at me.

I m like hiding under the covers.

So I m a true if I say in that sense,

where no emotion is constant,

everything just keeps changing.

I think I m still like finding

my calm on the red carpet, you know.

There is a certain overwhelming energy

especially when there s like so many photographers like,

Here, look here,

look over the shoulder,

this down, up, wave, you know, smile.

Yesterday somebody was saying do something with your hands.

And I was like,

I m not sure what I should do with my hands.

[Interviewer] So what did you do?

I did namaste. [laughs]

That just comes very naturally to me.

[camera shuttering] [upbeat music]

My team, Puneet,

who has been with me for 11?

10 years. 10 years now.

Like, too long.

Amit, who I ve also actually known

since the beginning of my career.

Yeah. And who I ve attacked

and not let him leave

for the last two and a half years.

That s Rhea. [laughs]

[Rhea] Hi.

[Alia laughing]

Hello.

So, Rhea is the one and only stylist

who can make me do things that I will never do

because she just has this like very-

Persuasive. persuasive, gentle,

but very clear tone.

So, it s like, if she s envisioning it,

it s just gotta happen.

So, everybody loves it when I work with Rhea

because they re like,

Okay, at least you won t like boss us around

and tell us exactly what to do

which is the same thing again and again.

For me, the people that I surround myself with,

it s really important I think for anybody

to just be surrounded by the people

that they feel very comfortable with

and then they trust deeply

especially in a creative field like ours.

We literally spend all our time together

so it s very important that we like each other

otherwise things can

get awkward. True.

[Alia laughing]

This is a custom beautiful outfit for Alia.

It s actually the house of Gucci

on a traditional Indian sari.

It s got the signature Gucci GG monogram,

which, I mean I think it looks so beautiful on Sari.

They created this very sexy, very minimal silhouette,

and then added this really dramatic drape,

which I thought was really smart,

a really modern way to interpret it.

And I think it takes that like signature Italian glamour

and mixes it with Indian exuberance

and creates something really special.

I m done with quiet luxury, it s over for me, bye.

No, I m just kidding.

I just think that there are times where you whisper

and there are times where you scream with joy

and I think this is one of those times.

It s Alia s debut at Cannes,

she s the first ever Indian Gucci brand ambassador.

And I think to just celebrate

those two worlds coming together,

what could be a better moment

than the closing ceremony at Cannes?

This, it s a custom little mini Jackie.

In India usually when we wear a sari,

we d wear like a traditional bag like a potli

and it s usually really small.

I just feel so proud

to be able to put like a piece of my culture

into this huge moment.

[upbeat music]

Okay, Vogue.

So, I m about 90% ready.

I m gonna go change

and then we do final touches

and then we re fully ready.

[upbeat music]

[camera shuttering]

Okay, thank you Vogue.

That was us on Last Looks,

and now we are gonna hit the red carpet.
