The music was amazing.

The first three girls..

It made me nervous a little bit.

Yeah.

[Tim] Something really bad was gonna happen?

[Julia] Exactly.

[suspenseful music]

They were very dark, sweet girls.

[suspenseful music]

This season of mew-mew, Miuccia Prada,

performed one of her characteristic about-faces.

She took a handful of things that we normally

associate with pretty and turned them on their heads.

[suspenseful music]

I thought she took those, the things you associate

with prettiness, like a [mumbles] or lace

or Little Red Riding Hood cape

and she made it so hard and tough.

Yeah, but mystic at the same time.

I loved this sweet shape but

with a toughness that I love.

And I love the fabrics a lot,

like they re quite a crispy cotton and romantic [mumbles]

but like hard but soft at the same time.

The girls were so prim, the music was strident.

I felt like I was witnessing a Hitchcock fashion show.

The dichotomy between the moods is very strained.

She s taken these things

that are associated with high purpose

and made them seem very, kind of,

oh screw it, I m gonna wear it the way I wanna wear it.

Miuccia, she gets mew-mew where the young girl lives.

[Tim] It also is Prada s cult of ugly,

I think, this, this show, it s a..

Yes, I guess you could say that but to me,

it s just like poison ivy and deadly nightshade,

sinister but so mature and intriguing.

[Tim] If looks could kill, they probably will at mew-mew.

Yeah, [laughing]

to coin a phrase.
