With his new women s collection, Tomas Meier continues

his fascination with dance and movement.

And it adds up to another fascinating

and unhinged take on modern luxury.

I thought about women exercising,

and I m seeing a lot of women

going to exercise every morning

and it s always the same obsession and the same type

of outfits and I said, you know there must be another way.

You cannot only focus on your six pack.

It was more interesting for a woman to focus on posture,

how to walk straight, how to hold your head gracefully.

I have to say, I think it was his

best collection I ever saw.

I loved that I saw a grown-up woman on the runway.

And I liked the mixed of the fabrics,

like the sweatpants with like a really (mumbles) dress.

The blouse with the big bow.

The jeans with the lurex, the shiny materials.

The gingham was very pretty and unexpected.

He s just shown us how to do denim in a grown up way.

Beautifully done and the raw edges but it was the epitome

of sophistication but in a natural easy uncontrived way.

I loved all of the disarray.

The fraying the patchworks, they re all done with

a sort of incredibly expensive fabrics.

And obviously because it s Tomas Maier,

incredibly precise criss-crossing expose seaming,

some of it with sequins, but there was nothing

haphazard about it, even though it looked haphazard.

[Tim] It s always interesting to see how far out

he goes in making the clothes look so worn.

That s his charisma.

Tomas is really good at doing a look which is not a look.

Which is like luxury without being too off-standish

and in your face.

It s really understated but really creative

and also very modern.

It s always about breaking it in.

I don t ever like when it looks new.

I always like it worn or torn or used.

Because I just don t like new clothes myself.

He s done so many incredible collections over the years.

So it s interesting to hear you respond to this one

so enthusiastically.

Maybe it s my vision of my woman that I saw

in this collection.

Grown-up but really emotional and really sensitive.

And their dresses can be beautiful but a protection as well.
