Jason Wu s muse for Spring

is a heavy-lidded British femme fatale, Charlotte Rampling,

who filled a million erotic dreams in the 1970s.

It was an interesting chord to strike

for a collection of American sportswear.

(driving techno music)

I really wanted to create a collection

that mixed the richness of bourgeois glamour

with American sportswear.

You know, something as easy as a t-shirt rendered in lace,

treating tweed like denim,

and there s this sense of comfort with a lot of the dresses

where they just kind of slip onto the body

and embraces the body.

[Tim] And you can t help when you put a bit

of Charlotte Rampling into an American collection,

it gets a little bit of European decadence.

Yeah, absolutely, and I think kind of the richness

and the sexiness comes through

with a bit of those sort of stricter American lines

that are there, so it s a nice combination.

I think she s so beautiful and so chic,

and all of us have a bit of a summer tan going on,

a bit of blonde.

She was the perfect inspiration for this show.

I wore this gorgeous dress

that I wanted to wear off the runway and onto the street.

[Tim] There was a lot going on in this collection,

a bit of masculine/feminine, a bit of androgyny,

a coolness, and there was a sort of insouciance.

The collection was very sexy, but not the obvious way,

and in a much more like relaxed way,

very fluid dresses and shape, which I love.

I love all the length.

It was sort of this chic elegance, really adult actually

and these amazing kind of vintage beaded dresses

that you could see in your grandmother s closet really,

and those incredibly flowy dresses at the end.

Jason s fully grown up at this point.

This is a dream collection for me.

It s the clothes I wanted to make,

and it felt really honest.

It felt really quintessentially me,

and it felt sophisticated, and I love that.

I love a little bit of refinement.

[Tim] And naughtiness actually.

Well, always a little naughtiness.

[Tim] Andy one button and that whole thing falls off.
