[Tim] Who do you think this woman is?
Joan of Arc.
No doubt about it. (laughs)
Revisited by Ricardo.
Ricardo s Tisci s latest collection for Givenchy
was a kind of rootsy affair.
If you think of rootsy meaning
going back to what he does best.
Something that was streamlined, graphic,
quite fetishistic and very sexy.
I just lately probably as well
influence all these women I ve been
meeting and collaborating and women that I respect,
it came very naturally to do
typical me, like things that
really that belong to imaginary
that I love for a long time,
which is to
try to delve into the costume.
Or the graphics,
because I like flavors from 70 America, 60.
As usual like when girls that are
romantic and intelligent
but have the little touch of naughtiness.
[Tim] Are you surprised that a fashion show
can elicit that kind of response from you?
It s creation.
You know when he s in front of his paper,
he has to invent lines
and to invent a feeling.
And it has to come from a hidden place.
So the best ones are real creators.
They re like sculptors.
The black-and-white stripes
reminded me of a really signal collection
in his career.
It was five years ago maybe now,
and everyone was sort of like, whoa,
who is this guy.
And he s always looking back
at what he s done before.
He likes looking at the archive
and seeing how he can build on it.
I love that the line was
the same throughout.
You know sometimes he does shows where
there s different sections and difference,
and this shows very one point of view.
I see a real essence.
When you love and you expect so much something,
that becomes your religion in a way.
And I ve got a big, enormous respect of women.
I grew up with women,
and so anything I do,
at the end of the day, I go back to women.
And that for me,
that was the catalyst in this collection.
The fact of love, respect and support
of something I love.
