(ambient piano music)

The last couple of shows I ve been thinking

a lot about defying, and every time you create,

they say that creation is the opposite of death.

And when you create it s actively defying death.

What is defying really about?

Is it going someplace else,

what do we really know about defying?

I was thinking of fragile balances, fragility.

And that s kind of where I went with this collection.

I wanted something delicate, something fragile.

Fabrics are kind of floating on top of each other.

When you do a collection you kind of want

to challenge yourself, and I m thinking,

okay, what would be a shock coming from me?

Delicacy, and color.

How do I make that convincingly mine,

how do I take possession of that convincingly?

And that was my assignment to myself.

We all like to see ourselves

as a powerful, supernatural force.

And when I do some Renoir shows I indulge myself in that.

And as long as we re here I say, go all the way.

You re only here once,

so be as theatrical as you want to be.
