Vetements Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear

[Designer] We wanted to do something quite dark, in a way,

that corresponded to many people s personal state of mind.

There was a lot of this rugby elements.

First we started shrinking everything.

We literally boiled some of the t-shirts and jerseys,

and we shrunk everything.

And then we re like okay let s go another extreme.

So we went into the rugby shoulders.

Really this exaggerated the contrast between the two.

The challenge was to make them both coexist

in the same collection.

[Nicola] I was so excited during the show

cuz it s what you wanna wear today.

It s just easy and it s strong and it s exciting!

It s the whole energy.

It s the casting, the clothes,

and the attitude is spark, it s incredible.

[Collier] I like the fact that he talks about night time,

and there s always a sense of things

kind of coming off and and on.

And it s almost like somebody went out

and took their clothes off in a club

and had to put them back on to go home.

It s a kind of total freedom, I think.

[Designer] I feel like this is

the most personal collection we did.

Not my personal collection,

but really the Vetements personal collection in a way.
