[Tim] So what s your earliest memory

of Diane von Furstenberg?

Being a very beautiful young woman.

Very sexy, wearing that wrap dress

and everybody just drooling over her. [laughing]

I guess it s true that designers use themselves

as source material for their collection, so aren t we lucky

that Diane von Furstenberg had such rich dreams

and memories to draw on.

She s gone Pagan, this season.

When people ask me what period in history

would you have liked to lived in, I always said antiquity.

It was wonderful.

I love all the Safari prints, all the colors,

it was just beautiful.

I thought it was a fantastic show.

I would actually get some pieces from this show.

[Tim] She knows what women want.

She really does. It s just remarkable.

They were different ages.

It s feminine, it s clinging

but it s so light and sexy.

It s fantastic.

Just like the painters of the 19th Century

who created the prier for life paintings

and went to antiquity, that s what I did.

And so we have beautiful draping.

But my girl is young, and she belongs in 2010.

So she wears these draping with T-shirt under.

She wears it, as a girl would today.

This product is modern, is young.

It s the equivalent of the drape dress but, for today.

Crazy about those bags.

I m gonna go off and buy like three

of those multicolored bags

with the sort of bubbly things on.

Absolutely beautiful.

I thought it was quite an extra little subtext

of barbarism there you know,

hand maidens of antiquity kind of stuff.

Definitely handmaidens antiquity,

and a little bit of sort of primal surge

from the kind of the beast in the jungle.

It was giving me a little bit of, sort of,

evil under the sun, some sort of 20 s and 30 s dresses

mixed in with some actually very beautiful drapery

and it is her, she is that, you know?

Highly chic, bohemian, free-spirited person.

It s very much the fantasy of what I love,

but it s put in today s world.

[Tim] Exciting, huh?

I hope so.

[Tim] Erotic even?

Well, it s sensual.
