Miuccia Prada s latest collection is the perfect paradox,

because it brings together so many opposing elements.

But it s also the perfect hybrid,

because cross-breeds those elements.

Just absolutely broke the mold, something new,

something different, something really exciting.

I m proud to say I saw it.

The shapes are amazing, the hair, makeup was amazing,

the set was amazing, it was a proper good show.

It was like scuba couture, ridiculously incredible show.

What s so amazing about Miuccia is,

there s a taste level that is so high up there,

she s all by herself.

(Lipgloss by Lil Mama)

[Man] The sense of truncated couture,

you can see something beginning as a couture outfit,

that would be roughly hacked up.

Got a bit turned upside down,

I felt like it was two things being smooshed together.

Ancient Balenciaga, trapeze-line shapes

and then these beautiful dresses kind of sitting,

very fitted on the body but then looking like some trashy,

hyper-real Miami post card, it was just, ah,

kind of sent your brain all over the place, fantastic.

It was as if she had just taken a pair of scissors

and thought, You know what my duchesse coat

from last season, I m gonna wear it to the beach,

I m gonna just gonna cut it off.

And the pants, too, they re turning into a bathing suit.

[Man] The frayed edges of luxury.

The frayed edges have never looked so expensive.

(Lipgloss by Lil Mama)

It s a very strong Miuccia Prada collection

because she combined fragility,

the transparency of a crystal which is like a drop of water,

with something very hard.

I almost felt like they re

the Hanging Gardens of Babylon on the shoes,

where the waterfall pendant cascades down, beautiful.

(classical music and Lipgloss by Lil Mama)

[Man] Nothing is ever quite what it seems,

look closely at those prints

and there was something a little bit macabre about them.

It all depends on what a person has inside,

you can say, What, end of the world? Who cares.

The actual cut I think was so edgy and happy,

it all depends on what you implement

into the dress you ll be wearing.

She talked about optimism being a choice, and it is.

You can either decide that you re going to go

into a dark place and give up,

or you can go on and push yourself to create,

and I think that s very inspiring.

[Man] Miuccia Prada s saying choose life.

Choose life (laughs).
