[intro music]

[Tim] People do say that one of the enduring

male fantasies is they wish they played in a rock band.

It s not, it was never my dream,

I think there are so many good people,

that I bet would say as my other job.

[chill music]

Their hair, it s like a chinyere,

it s done, but messed up.

It s a bit work and more, than not.

Karl Lagerfeld adapted this famous mondino photograph

of himself as a guitar god for his latest collection.

Oddly enough, the clothes themselves

weren t as hard edged as usual.

[runway music]

[Tim] How does this image of you

with a guitar relate to the collection?

You know, everything relates to music today.

Body conscious rep is not the old,

old thing in terms of fashion,

then it evolved a look, low pants, tight,

it s tight but it s in another proportion,

besides short and all that.

[Tim] So, what did you think of that show?

Amazing. I loved all the short pieces,

those jackets in the beginning, that buttoned back up,

that had sort of that arch to them.

I mean with Karl, I don t usually wear a lot of black,

but I mean, with his stuff, I m like,

I want to wear all black, and all white,

all the time.

[Tim] It was less of that hard edge, that we ve seen

in this collection, I thought.

Had the heavy rock, yeah, I felt it was still there,

obviously, through the music and through,

yaknow, the metallics and everything and some of the fringe.

But it was nice to see something a little lighter.

[runway music]

[Tim] How important is music for you?

Music is, it s very important for me, it s my life.

[Tim] Have you ever played the guitar?

Uh, I m not very gifted.

I ve tried but, quite hoping that I better save that,

for my fantasies.

[Tim] It is a fantasy.

[Karl] It is a fantasy, but fashion is a fantasy.

[Tim] What do you think of the onesie,

the sort of playsuits?

I loved them, those little jumpsuits,

I think that they re really cute

I do love myself a onesie.

[Tim] Which reminded me a little bit of

Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.

I mean, the white satin shorts.

Yeah, I, I totally agree.

I remember as a child I used to wear little onesies,

so why not?

I ll wear them again. [laughs]

[Tim] I think it s interesting that fashion is so

endlessly flexible, and accommodating,

people s dreams and fantasies.

So, you have to be open to everything,

you have to be always ready for change,

it s you to adapt to the change,

not the change adapts to you.
