[fast paced guitar music]
It s fashion week, and I m in Paris.
So what better place to go to shows.
[fast paced guitar music]
Mustaches are obviously in
Because everyone has a mustache this season
No, I arrived in Paris with a full beard
And I leave with a mustache
Did you sneak out of school to come here?
No, no, it s Sunday, yeah
The last big show of the week in Paris was John Gallianos
Where the fashion literally went up in puffs of smoke.
It s quite a telling metaphor for these troubled times.
Except that it was something pretty substantial going on
In Paris this week.
[Deep bass music]
The strong trend is the underwear worn as a cocktail dress
I thought, ah!
Pointy bras are obviously back!
The super nipple
I need to get one of those.
I ve seen enough bras
to make Madonna very happy.
[deep bass music]
The slip is coming back.
Thank god.
I love how the things that I m really into
they always come back around.
That s why we ve created Le Slip Illusion
Where you actually don t have to wear any underwear at all.
[salsa music]
It d be fair to say this is the season the cocktail dress.
[salsa music]
It s time for the painters to look
at a designer
when he has that sense of form and poetry .
[salsa music]
There have been some beautiful evening collections
But women have to walk around
In the streets during the daytime.
I ll tell you where I saw unbelievable great
real day clothes, was at Celine today.
As Judy Blaymont said to me
There is beige, and there is beige.
[dramatic music]
This is nothing simple about being a woman these days.
Well, there is more than one woman in the world.
You could be a rocker one day
And you know, a very chic lady the next.
Was it cool girls in soldiers? Fabulous, I love that!
In Celine, those epaulets
The things they use on the military coat.
Phoebe interprets it in chiffon blouse, I found it so chic.
Fred Jawariar in a way.
Ah, I don t know, I see the Amazons.
Amazon girls.
[fast-paced rock music]
I like the fact that Louis Vuitton started on time.
Although they could have warned a few more people.
Let s not forget that when everyone s wallets
are slapped tight shut
We need to give them a reason to open them.
And that s exactly what designers seem to be doing
Going back to their heritage.
No, there s been a lot of kind of standness on the runway
And I just wanted to just bring a summer energy.
[fast-paced rock music]
I really never had some much fun at a fashion show
I thought that Chanel, really great
Wonderful fabrics, and great accessories
Very chic rustic.
All the better shows have a lot of oddness in them
You want designers to take you on a bit of a journey.
Somewhere you don t quite know.
Like superwomen
I want to go home tonight and find like a sexy lizard woman
with aqua lungs to spend the rest of my life with.
Can I ask you what you thought of the show?
Just makes me think of aliens.
I ve seen Gareth Pugh, I ve seen Rick Owens
It feels very twenty first century for the first time.
[rock music]
I think what happened in Paris
Actually rolled up the four weeks we saw before
And the whole fashion picture became must clearer.
You know, it s Paris runways
I mean this is where high artifice was born.
