Millie Bobby Brown Is Much More Dragon Than Damsel

and I m at The Plaza getting ready for my Damsel premiere.

I am so excited about tonight, and very...

It s been a long time coming to think that, like,

I filmed this, gosh, over a year and a half ago.

And, yeah, I was in a very different place in my life,

but I am very excited for it to finally come out

and for everyone to watch me fight a dragon.

I m gonna go get my cozies on,

and then we re gonna go do some glam.

Okay, [Millie trills] let s go.

[chillhop music]

Buster always gives her a nice facial,

and I felt jealous, so she s getting a head massage today.

Gotta relax her after a stressful day, you know?

And I m wearing a lot of extensions tonight.

Yeah, so I m being kind, cause it s gonna be

a little bit torturous for her.

[Millie] Yeah.

We are going really long and dramatic.

Just a nice kind of soft, fresh wave.

It s 4:18 right now,

and I have to hit the red carpet at 6:00?

Oh, 6:30, so then...

The math s not mathing. [crew laughs]

[Jake] Two hour and 10 minutes.

Glam look is like classic, romantic,

old Hollywood but with a modern twist.

There s one little detail that really ties into the dress

but that s like the finishing touch that you ll see.

It means a lot to me that we re able

to pay homage to the film, you know, through my costumes.

So the dress symbolizes dragon scales,

which is kind of what I was wanting to go for,

and I feel like the whole film, she s a victim,

and to be able to turn up to my premiere

and be the dragon is pretty cool.

Since we re getting along,

we re getting to the next stage in our relationship.

I m very excited to see Millie on the big screen.

Right now, I like how much heart and soul has gone into it

from the wonderful Pete and Buster.

[Millie] Who s that for?

The adult one.

Tonight I am wearing a custom Louis Vuitton look,

Ryan and I collaborated together

on bringing this idea to Louis Vuitton,

and Nicola delivered a beautiful dress.

His sketches were amazing.

As you can see, the dragon scales

are moving kind of in a bias pattern on here.

In effect, the design is pretty simple.

The real magic of the dress is the pattern and the fabric.

It s all about the altering

and like even when we were doing that,

Ryan was like, I want it to barely touch

and kiss the ground.

All those details actually matter,

especially when you re on a carpet.

[chillstep music]

My best friend is five minutes away, I m so excited.

She is the most spectacular, wonderful human being.

I just love her, she like makes me laugh so hard.

And I think sometimes in like

the seriousness of it all, she grounds me.

Oh my gosh, okay.

Do you guys wanna sneak peek at something?

On the first day of filming Damsel,

I had to be covered in green slime

and this was my reaction to it.

[crew laughs]

Just sadness, pure sadness.

I only get into the zone the second they say action.

Just I m like that kind of...

I m that kind of gal.

I usually take the time in hair and makeup

to just like be myself.

I think so much of my career has been

me playing other characters

and especially growing up in such a formative time,

like many months of the year I was playing other people

and it s been hard for me to find myself.

So I think being in hair and makeup,

I wanna try and be the most myself

and give myself that like grace to have fun and to enjoy it.

And then the second they say action, I can turn it on.

[chillstep music]

Gia s here?

Gia!

[gals screaming]

We actually became friends

because Gia s younger sister Olivia

was a huge fan of Stranger Things

and like really resonated with Eleven

because Eleven had a shaved head

and at the time Olivia was going through

chemotherapy for leukemia and...

Oh God and Olivia passed away

and I became best friends with Gia through Olivia,

so I think that was meant for a reason.

Stranger Things specifically, brought me

really meaningful experiences.

I had actually many experiences with cancer patients,

specifically, because of my shaving of my head.

You know, it meant a lot to people

and it was really humbling and grounding

to get that at 12 years old,

to meet people like that.

Especially in the height of my success, you know?

When Stranger Things came out,

I was doing so many exciting things,

but then I got those moments of real life

and meeting people that were truly going through hardships.

And I think that really, you know, helped me.

The food is here, which means I get to find out

what pasta Jake ordered me.

Some type of cylinder?

Yeah.

And actually what I love about this sparkle in the eye

is that in the movie the dragon s blood is sparkly.

So I kind of like this element that we re implementing.

Half an hour and we are gonna be on the red carpet

at the world premier of Damsel.

Yay!

Altogether, I envision it

months and months before this happens

and these guys always seem to surprise me.

It always looks so unbelievable,

looks better than my imagination and I m very lucky.

I have to go to my red carpet.
