Jason Wu: Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear

A little bondage never hurt anyone.

I see a black leather harness

on this Jason Wu dress.

And I think this might be

Fifty Shades collection.

There s definitely a lot of steam heat in these clothes.

And he s right on top of that story.

[dance music playing]

It s Helmut Newton meets Lillian Bassman,

And it s all about contrast this season.

I love the idea of taking something almost quite innocent

and mixing it with something not very innocent,

and combining it into a collection that I really feel like

is a very grown up version of me.

I loved his naughty and nice take

with his inspiration by Helmut Newton

and the leathers look so soft as well as the layers

and I just thought that it was a really fabulous direction.

Jason, he s found a darker side.

But manages to do it in a very elegant beautiful way

And I think at the moment

that s maybe more what fashion wants from Jason.

What he s doing moving forward

is he s building up the pieces that are his.

I mean it s becoming much more recognizable.

It is that cute short,

it s the tailoring.

The amount of lace that he uses,

that s become a recurring theme.

I wanted to expose a little more so to speak,

and there s a lot of transparencies,

but this is where you can really appreciate

the construction of the clothes.

A tailored jacket in a organza.

It s something that s really beautiful,

see through, but still all about the craftsmanship.

I get those lacy bits.

When it was really fitted to the body,

and kind of tailored like a sexy girls uniform.

A little fantasy, it s all right.

Jason s always sort of had lady-like chic down pat.

And I think this brings out a little bit

of a naughtier edge to him,

and a little bit of his naughty personality side.

I m growing up,

and I think my clients are growing up with me.

And thus far,

it s been a blast,

and I really wanted to show people what else I have.

That there s a lot more than meets the eye.
