Missoni: Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear

Personally, I m really scared of my grandmother [laughs].

You can really tell whenever she likes something

or she doesn t and I think she really likes it.

2013 is Missoni s 60th anniversary.

Angela Missoni thought that was a good moment

to remind people of what the house was like

at the very beginning before she took it into the future.

What s the deal with the radiant lip?

It s about seeing her aura, her beauty,

but then she s kinda young and a little bit crazy

and she likes to wear really fluorescent lipstick.

[quick upbeat music]

Basically, it s a show done on light.

The light of the white and the color will get alive

with the light and then the color

will still get alive going to dark.

[Tim] It s a journey.

It s a journey into light.

[quick upbeat music]

The show was a quite a statement at the opening

with all these whites, but what they did was like

this patchwork of different patterns

and I think this kind of 3D quality

that I think was very special.

The collection, it s actually a lot more pared-down.

It s a little bit more simple, it s still kind of sporty,

but she seems much fresher, much more into the future.

There was a lot of these degrade effect

from white going into colors and a lot of play on layering

that made everything also very transparent,

a little futuristic.

[Tim] When you veil something,

automatically it becomes something mysterious.

Yeah, mysterious, yes, for me,

it s mysterious and it really gives a magic aura

because it doesn t hide but it gives a lightness.

We are very happy we got a zigzag that came out.

We re lucky to have such a strong trademark,

but Missoni, it s more than that.

Missoni, it s fashion and it s style.
